Are you sitting for the MSBTE 2018? The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) 2018 is a state-level autonomous body which is regulated and governed by the Maharashtra Government. The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) 2018 is responsible for designing and implementing diploma, advance diploma, and post diploma courses as well as programs to the concerned affiliated educational institutions in the state of Maharashtra. The MSBTE was established in the year 1963 towards catering the ever-increasing needs of highly reputed affiliated institutions offering the major diploma programs to the students of the state.

History of the MSBTE (Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education)

The intent of the setting up of an individual educational board which would be responsible for providing higher education has its history as back as 60 years. Before the independence of the country from the British rule, the various types of diploma courses in the fields of Technology and Engineering had been provided by leading institutions like the Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology (Pune), College of Engineering (Pune), Government Polytechnic (Nagpur), and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (Mumbai) in the state of Maharashtra. A separate Directorate of Technical Education had been established in the year 1948 towards imposing control on the different levels of technical education.

Due to the increase in the era of industrial development in the nation, the need for various diploma courses also increased substantially. As such, the government went forward with establishing an individual Board of Technical Education in the year 1963 in the state of Maharashtra. This board was later named as the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The MSBTE was given its autonomous status in the year 1999.

The MSBTE is responsible for conducting summer as well as winter exams every year in the duration of six months apart. The summer exams conducted by the board are organized during the months of April and May and the winter exams conducted by the board are organized during the months of November and December. The MSBTE (Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education) is also responsible for conducting online MSCIT examinations every year for the state of Maharashtra.

Eligibility for the First Year MSBTE Diploma Courses Admission

If you wish to get enrolled in any of the diploma, advance diploma, and post diploma courses in the reputed affiliated colleges of the MSBTE, then you need to qualify for the same. You must be able to meet the required eligibility criteria as put forth by the MSBTE 2018. To sit for the diploma course admission in the MSBTE affiliated colleges and institutes, you need to be an Indian citizen having passed the 10th standard exam of the Maharashtra State Board or any of its equivalent boards with an average percentage marks of at least 35%. The subjects that you should have appeared for should include Mathematics, English, and General Science for getting admission into the 1st year of the various diploma courses offered by the affiliated colleges and institutes of the MSBTE.
